Still to far, too much warning. Not a true grab 'n' stab. We only got to play for about two minutes with the anti-shanking techniques, but that's the critical skill. Being able to read the inappropriate touch (grab) from the off hand is the best chance.Roryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08483616030072739190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7799466056750785352.post-38159087576293946862011-03-03T05:12:00.380-08:002011-03-03T05:12:00.380-08:00Anyone who has ever taken a "knife defense cl...Anyone who has ever taken a "knife defense clinic" needs to read this post and understand it. I have seen so many defenses that are just plain ridiculous and will get you killed. People don't attack with a knife from 2 miles away and they sure don't give you a chance to stop them by attacking in slow motion or just using one strike.
This drill was very real and very eye opening. I got murdered using things I thought would work. The method Kasey described is the only thing that saved my life, and that's a against a much larger opponent.
Thanks God the dojo is a safe place to dieLise Steenersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05040510534717038918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7799466056750785352.post-7119860522693511992011-03-02T17:39:37.267-08:002011-03-02T17:39:37.267-08:00It doesn't keep me up at night or anything, bu...It doesn't keep me up at night or anything, but an attack like this is what I worry about the most.Eliashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10414387884082142915noreply@blogger.com
